Which wedding rings suit your style?
Are you looking for distinctive wedding rings that perfectly fit your style and personality? Rings that are a little different from the usual. At Oogst you will find several collections created in our own workshop. Some rings are bold and minimalistic, with hammering and straight lines and others are playful and textured with flowy lines. The different styles in the rings combine very well together. You shouldn’t feel limited to only a matching pair, you can each pick the style ring that works perfectly for your hand.
What material is used in wedding rings?
Sustainability is very important and is one of our core values when we create new jewellery. All rings made by Oogst are created in recycled – urban mined- gold. Sometimes in combination with conflict free diamonds. You can choose palladium white gold, rose gold, rosé gold or yellow gold. Together we will look at what colour suits you the best. Did you know that besides the stunning white brilliant cut diamonds we also have special cuts and/or colours in diamonds. There are many surprising possibilities in gemstones too.
Can wedding rings also be made from heirloom gold?
Another possibility is the use of your own heirloom gold. Melting jewellery that you inherited from your loved ones (or even from the two families) to create your wedding rings can add a beautiful extra symbolic value. It is a nice and sustainable way of re-using gold, next to the emotional value that a heirloom piece has. Did you know that heirloom diamonds and other gemstones can be re-used as well?
What would be the price of a pair of wedding rings?
Of course you as a couple choose how much you want to spend. An average set of handmade wedding rings made in our studio starts at 1500,- euro a set. If you like quite slim rings, then it will be less. Do you want a wider band or a big sparkling diamond than it will be more. The prices are visible in the titles next to the pictures on our website, so do look around at our wedding ring section.
The use of heirloom gold is a sustainable and also cost effective option. A simple pair, if you have enough weight in gold to create them from, will start at 300,- euro per ring.
How does it work? At the appointment you can try on different models and we will discuss your wishes to find the details that work for you. At that time we can calculate the exact price for you.
If you fall in love and want us to make them for you, we will ask for one third of the price as a down payment.
How long does it take to create wedding rings
It takes about 4 to 6 weeks to finish your wedding rings. You are very welcome to come check out the collection a couple of months before the big day. It’ll give you time to consider all the bespoke options. We’ll make sure the rings are done a month before the wedding.
Are you getting married in 2 weeks and are you freaking out? Come on in, we’ll try to figure something out.
Engraving
The last step of the process in the making of the wedding ring is to add an engraving. There are a lot of possibilities. Lotte engraves by hand, so we could add your names, initials, the wedding date or a heart. This looks like handwriting. If you want something else, like writing in your own handwriting or even a finger print, that can be laser engraved. An engraving is a precious addition, something that will give extra meaning to your wedding ring.
On which hand should I wear my wedding ring?
That is a question we hear a lot when couples choose their rings. On the left hand or the right hand?
There are no strict rules for this, but we have some traditions in The Netherlands. The Catholics will wear the wedding ring on the left hand and wear the engagement ring on the right hand. Protestants do it exactly the other way around. During a Jewish wedding ceremony the ring will be slid on the right index finger, but afterwards the bride will move it to the left ring finger. Every country, each region, and each belief has its own customs around a wedding ceremony. If you are really practical then just wear the ring on the hand you use the least frequently.
Poll
A while ago we did a poll on our Facebook page. From this research we learned that 59% of our clients wear the wedding ring on the left hand and 41% on the right hand.
There were many different reasons. We have read a few times that the left index finger is in direct contact with the heart. Some people wear it on the right because it feels better and others just follow their traditions or beliefs.
What bridal jewellery is possible as well?
Want to sparkle on your wedding day? We have a lot more options for you besides your wedding ring. From extraordinary cufflinks for the groom and his groomsmen to pearl earrings and gemstone necklaces for the bride. All handmade wedding jewellery in our distinct Oogst style. We can also create a bespoke piece for you to match the lace in your dress or perhaps your initials in a pair of cufflinks as a gift for your husband-to-be.
