Pavé setting
The pavé ring is otherwise known as the eternity ring. Also as a memoire, promise, alliance, eternelle or infinity ring. This shows you just how popular the ring is all over the world. The eternity ring is a classic in the Oogst collection.
An eternity ring is a ring in which the gold is set all around with a continuous line of identically cut gemstones (usually diamonds). This technique is called a pavé setting. The continuous line gives the ring it’s exceptionally sparkling look.
You will find the eternity ring in our collection in different shapes and variations. Straight and sharp in our series ‘Simplicity’ or softly rounded and hammered in our series ‘Rhythm’.

The history of the eternity ring
The history of the eternity ring goes back 4000 years. In the old Egypt it was already a love and eternity symbol. In this time it was shaped as a snake that bites its own tail, without beginning and without end. These have been found numerous times in the grave tombs. Early copies were made from bone but later they became more luxurious and were also made from precious metal, set with precious stones.
These days you won’t be thinking of snakes when you see the straight and clean lines of the ring, but the symbolism has stayed the same.
