golden earrings japonais * kamon garnet: sold

These yellow gold ‘Kamon’ earrings with deep red garnet drops are from our ‘Japonais’ series.
Kamon are still used a lot in everyday life in Japan even though they are centuries old. These signs were passed on in noble and samurai families. This is how they became something like a family crest. You will find these stylized plant and flower shapes in modern day architecture, kimono fabrics, lanterns, and all sorts of utensils.
These Kamon are one of the things that caught our attention during our inspiration trip to Kyoto and Tokyo. This inspiration made it’s way to the one-of-a-kind jewels in our Japonais collection.
